Easy Yard Upgrade with Spray Paint

My mom recently gave her yard decor an upgrade with spray paint.  Besides looking instantly better, it's super quick and easy.  Just pick your item, grab your favorite color and spray.  Sorry I don't have any before pictures, because mom didn't tell me her plans.  But I think most of the items she painted were pretty weathered (rusting metal).  So, here's what she did:

Cute chair plant stand painted purple

Look what's sitting on it . . .

pretty

Now this is supposed to have a potted plant or flower sitting in it, but my mom is a little quirky (that's where I got it).

Yep, that's a bowling ball.

I should have taken this photo in the morning to get the pretty silver paint better.

I like that she painted the bird red:

Birdbath

Mom painted this birdcage white for me to use on my apartment balcony last Christmas.  Now it's hanging on her shepherd's hook.

Here it is at dusk:

And since I didn't get a night photo, here it is on the balcony at my old apartment last Christmas:

And the best for last, my beautiful momma:

What have you spray-painted lately?  Post a link in the comments - I would love to see.

I'm Baaaaaack! What do you mean you didn't know I was gone?!

Ok, I haven't posted in a looong time.  We moved back into the little trailer we had been renting.  (That was and is a continuing disaster, more on that later.)  I am in my 5th month at my new job.  My husband is still looking for work (hey if anyone in the central Arkansas area is hiring, give me a call).

Any who, I want to get back to blogging.  Like everyone else on Earth, I have dedicated a big chunk of my free time to Pinterest.  So addicting and fun.  I will be adding a feature on things I've made that were inspired by Pinterest pins.

I also will be documenting the clean-up and restoring of my sad little single-wide trailer.  The tenants were less than kind to her.

And, since we have moved back out to the country, I get to grow a garden again!  Yay, we are SO excited about fresh tomatoes.  Yum!

So, join my blog, visit often and leave some comments.

It's good to be back!

I Need More Hours in My Day

Hi, I'm still around.  I am sorry I haven't posted in so long.  My new job has kept me busy, stressed and exhausted.  But it's all good.  It hasn't been a bad stress, but a "wow, this is all new and am I ever gonna learn this" kind of stress.  I'm sure you have been there.

Well, I have been thinking, and I am changing the purpose or structure of this blog.  I am throwing away the schedule and I will be posting crafts and recipes as I do them.  I have tons of ideas, just not tons of time.  I'll probably have rambling posts on the life of this particular southern girl.

Right now I am shopping for a car to get me to that new job.  And of course I am working on Christmas stuff.  This year, since my son is two, I decided to decorate the tree with only home made decorations.  That way, if Jax pulls any off and destroys them, it's not that big of a deal.

I made small snowflakes out of white paper and gold and white heavy vellum.

I also made a garland out of red tag board.

Next I made these silver ribbon "icicles."

And last, I made a silver bow for the top of the tree.

I was going to make a popcorn garland, but the Christmas tree is so small, I decided it had enough stuff on it.  Now if only my son will stop pulling the snowflakes off and tearing them to bits.  It will be interesting to see if the tree has any left by the time Christmas gets here.

How did you decorate your tree this year?  I would love to see pics.
