{Menu Monday} 1/7/13

Hello all!  Here is what we are having at our house this week.  Just click on the blog names to find the recipes.

Poppyseed Chicken via Sew Caroline.  This is her picture of the finished product:

It is SO yummy!  The only thing I would change, is make sure you use unsalted butter.  There is plenty of salt in the crackers and you can always add salt at the table.  We will have a garden salad on the side.

Balsamic Roast French Dip Sandwiches via Add a Pinch.  The Roast recipe is found HERE.  This is her picture:

Balsamic Roast Beef French Dip Sandwich Recipe from addapinch.com

This roast recipe is so easy, it's a crock pot recipe, and you should have most of the ingredients on-hand.  I love french dip sandwiches.  I serve potato chips and a pickle spear on the side.

Cheesy Potato Soup with Mini Ham Sandwiches via My Recipes.  This picture belongs to Johnny Autry and Randy Mayor:

Cheesy Potato Soup Recipe

We actually had this soup last week and my husband requested it for this week.  It is SO good and really easy.  I have a few tips I will try to blog about when I make it again.  I serve the mini sandwiches on Hawaiian Rolls with mustard.

Healthified Crunchy Asian Salad via Live Better America.  This is their picture:

I love this salad.  Crunchy and sweet.  I plan on cooking a chicken breast to cut up and add to the salad.  We will have baked egg rolls on the side.

Oven-Roasted Sausages, Potatoes and Peppers via Lila's Apron.  I just call this Sausage Bake.  Here's her picture:

This is another EASY recipe.  You just chop everything up and throw it in the oven.  I love the banana peppers or peppercini (I spelled that wrong, I'm sure).  I don't even serve a side with this, we just eat a big old bowl-full.  I mean, c'mon, it has sausage, bell peppers, potatoes and onions.  If you thrown some cheese on it you have all your basic food groups.

Well, I hope I gave you some ideas for dinner this week.  I am linking up here:

Happy New Year!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while.  My whole house got the flu.  Myself and my son had it before Christmas and my hubby got it after.  Blech!  We still managed to have an awesome Christmas.

My brother, who is in the Navy, and his wife and two girls were able to make it to my parents' home for Christmas Day.  My sister and all three of her boys were also there.  It was SO nice.

It was the first Christmas my son, who just turned three, kinda knew what was going on.  He is still telling people that Santa is "going to come to my house."  I tell him, "yes, next Christmas."

I didn't ask for any gifts because I was blessed to win a Silhouette, I know right!  It arrived right after Christmas.  Due to all the sickness, I haven't been able to play with it yet.  I'm so excited to be able to craft with it and look forward to doing some tutorials this year.

If you are sick with the flu or cold, here are some ideas to get you through it:  All were found via Pinterest.  You can follow me there by clicking HERE.

Image belongs to Dotal Anecdotes
This is Fire Cider.  It consists of very hot peppers, ginger, garlic, onion, apple cider vinegar and other ingredients.  You can find the recipe HERE at Dotal Anecdotes:  Life as a Wife.  It is a home remedy and preventative for colds, etc.  You have to make this and let it sit for several weeks, so you won't be able to actually use this today.

Now, this:
Image belongs to Easy Peasy
This is a Paleo and Holistic Cold Remedy that you can find HERE and is by Easy Peasy.  This is a very popular pin on Pinterest.  Plus it's got ingredients everyone usually has on hand:  honey and cinnamon.

This one also uses simple ingredients you should already have on-hand.  It is called Maggie's Cough Remedy and can be found HERE.  It is brought to us by Good Food Matters.

So, fix up one or more of these remedies, drink lots of water, eat some chicken soup and feel better!
